Notice (fr) : Le fondeur de cloche sait ce qu’il fait: il a une idée claire d’un son, et malgré les éléments qui sont contre lui, il saura faire l’alliage, couler la forme, et peaufiner l’ébauche pour lui donner l’aura sonore rêvée, où timbre et hauteur ne font qu’un.

Il cédera aussi à l’humanité un héritage éternel. Car une fois accordée, la cloche conservera pour toujours l’empreinte de son fondeur, d’une beauté éclatante, d’une puissance rayonnante, non sans une teinte de mélancolie, surtout lorsqu’entendue au loin, dans le brouillard…

Comment résister à cet appel des sirènes? Ne devrions-nous pas nous méfier de ce chant de déesses, pour éviter le naufrage? Rendons-leur hommage, et tentons de leur survivre!

He will also give to humanity an eternal inheritance. Because once tuned, the bell will keep forever the imprint of its caster, of dazzling beauty, of radiating power, but not without a hint of melancholy, especially when heard at distance, through the fog…

How to resist to this mermaid’s call? Should we not trust this goddesses’ chant to avoid a shipwreck? Let us pay them a tribute, and try to outlast them!

Autres informations (fr) : Le tombeau des fondeurs a été réalisée en 2008 dans le studio du compositeur et dans les studios de la University of Huddersfield (Angleterre, RU) et a été créée par Wilhem Latchoumia le 18 octobre 2008 au Studio 4'33" à Ivry-sur-Seine (France). Elle est une commande de Pierre Malbos. Merci à Françoise de Latour et Pierre Malbos d’avoir rendu le présent enregistrement sonore possible. Le piano Baschet-Malbos est construit, accordé, modifié, et entretenu par Pierre Malbos. La présente version a été enregistrée par Sarah Nicolls au Studio 4'33" les 24 et 25 novembre 2012.
Autres informations (en) : Le tombeau des fondeurs was realized in 2008 in the composer’s studio and the studios of the University of Huddersfield (England, UK) and premiered by Wilhem Latchoumia on October 18, 2008 at Studio 4'33" in Ivry-sur-Seine (France). The piece was commissioned by Pierre Malbos. Thanks to Françoise de Latour and Pierre Malbos to have made this sound recording possible. The piano Baschet-Malbos is built, tuned, modified, and maintained by Pierre Malbos. The current version was recorded by Sarah Nicolls at Studio 4'33" on November 24 and 25, 2012.
