Sachiyo Takahashi est directrice artistique, chorégraphe et compositrice. Elle a obtenu un diplôme de l’université de Tokyo (1992, Culture et représentation). Elle explore principalement le corps et la voix dans le théâtre traditionnel/contemporain. Enfant, elle a appris le piano, la flûte à bec et la flûte traversière, et a plus tard étudié le Nô-kan avec le maître Yukimasa Isso. Elle est profondément influencée par le théâtre traditionnel japonais -Nô, Bunraku et Shinnai. Depuis 1999, elle étudie la composition électroacoustique avec Annette Vande Gorne au conservatoire de Mons, en Belgique (premier prix avec distinction pour ParaDice en 2001) et a entrepris une «création son/action», cherchant l’unité essentielle entre chorégraphie et son (Aviation/Abbréviation, 1999-2001). En tant que danseuse, elle a travaillé avec Jan Fabre en 1996-1998 et a étudié la mise en scène de théâtre avec lui. Le plus souvent, elle travaille à des projets interdisciplinaires, et a collaboré à de nombreuses occasions avec des artistes d’autres disciplines (Forklift Ballet, 1999, PlesioPhone, 2001, Intermedia improvisation à Prague, 2001) Sa performance Intermedia, Orpheus in the Dark, est soutenue par l’APAP (Advancing Performance Arts Project) et a été jouée dans cinq villes européennes en 2002. Elle est directrice artistique de «The Heart of PQ» (Quadriennale de Prague), en 2003. |

Sachiyo Takahashi is art director, choreographer and composer. She obtained an M.A. from the graduate school of Tokyo University (1992, Culture and Representation). Her main research was body and voice in traditional/contemporary performance. From childhood, she learned piano, recorder and flute and later learned Nô-kan from Master Yukimasa Isso. She is deeply influenced by Japanese traditional performing arts — Nô, Bunraku and Shinnai. From 1999, she learned electroacoustic composition from Prof. Annette Vande Gorne at the Conservatoire of Mons., Belgium (first prize with distinction for ParaDice in 2001) and started “sound-action creation” searching for the essential unity of choreography and sound in performance. (Aviation/Abbreviation, 1999-2001). As a performer, she worked with Jan Fabre in 1996-98 and learned theatre direction from him. Most of the time, she works on interdisciplinary projects and has collaborated on numerous occasions with artists from various disciplines. (Forklift Ballet, 1999, PlesioPhone, 2001, Intermedia improvisation in Prague, 2001) Her performance in Intermedia, Orpheus in the Dark, is supported by APAP (Advancing Performing Arts Project) and was performed in five European cities in 2002. She is one of the artistic curators of “the Heart of PQ” (Prague Quadrennial), in 2003. |
