Troposphère est une suite constituée de quatre miniatures au caractère minimal, réalisée à l’aide d’un processus heuristique de composition par stratification de couches sonores. La troposphère est la partie de l’atmosphère comprise entre le sol et la stratosphère (cette dernière débutant entre 6 et 17 km du sol). |

Troposphère is a suite of four short works in minimalist style. It was realized through a heuristic composition process by stratifying layers of sound. The troposphere is that part of the atmosphere between the ground and the stratosphere (which in turn begins between 6 and 17 km above the ground). |

Troposphère a été réalisée en mars et en avril 1997 au studio du compositeur et a été créée le 1er mai 1997 à l’Usine C dans le cadre du concert Haute tension produit par l’{acro:acreq}. Elle est une commande de l’{acro:acreq} réalisée avec l’aide du Conseil des arts du Canada ({acro:cac}). Merci à Chantal Fournier (qui a prêté sa voix à la dernière miniature). |

Troposphère was realized in the composer’s studio in March and April 1997 and premiered on May 1st, 1997 at Usine C as part of the Haute tension concert produced by {acro:acreq}. It was a commission by {acro:acreq} that was made possible with the help of the Canada Council for the Arts ({acro:cca}). With thanks to Chantal Fournier, whose voice is heard on the final piece. |
