Nick Storring est compositeur et violoncelliste et habite Toronto (Canada). Il a étudié la composition musicale à la Wilfrid Laurier University (Ontario) avec Peter Hatch et Glenn Buhr. Il termine présentement une maîtrise en composition à la York University (Toronto) avec David Mott. Il a participé à de nombreux festivals et concerts incluant Suoni Per Il Popolo (Montréal), Over The Top (Toronto), VTO Festival (Toronto), Open Ears (Kitchener, 2007), Wavelength’s Anniversary, et la Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony’s New Orchestra Series. Il a composé pour une variété de productions dans la région de Waterloo, dont plusieurs pièces avec la compagnie expérimentale MT Space. Il est membre de plusieurs ensembles dont le sombre «sleep-rock» trio Picastro (Polyvinyl Records), l’éclectique trio de musique électronique lourde I Have Eaten The City and The Knot et le duo de violoncelles d’improvisation avec Tilman Lewis. |

Nick Storring is a composer, and cellist based in Toronto (Canada). He holds a BMus in music composition from Wilfrid Laurier University where he worked with Peter Hatch and Glenn Buhr. Currently he is finishing a Masters in composition at York University with David Mott. He has been featured as a composer and performer at a variety of festivals and concert series including Suoni Per Il Popolo (Montréal), Over The Top (Toronto), VTO Festival (Toronto), Open Ears (Kitchener, 2007, ’07), Wavelength’s Anniversary, and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony’s New Orchestra Series. He has also composed for a variety of theatre and intermedia productions in the Waterloo area, including for several pieces with experimental company MT Space. He is a member of several projects including sombre ‘sleep-rock’ trio Picastro (Polyvinyl Records), eclectic and electronics-heavy improvisational trio I Have Eaten The City and The Knot, an improvisation-based cello duo with Tilman Lewis. |
