Richard Karpen (New York, NY, ÉU, 1957) est Professeur de musique à la University of Washington (Seattle, ÉU) où il enseigne la composition et la musique informatique et dirige le Center for Advanced Research Technology in the Arts and Humanities ({acro:cartah}). Il a étudié la composition avec Charles Dodge, Gheorghe Costinescu et Morton Subotnick. Il a un doctorat en composition de Stanford University (Californie, ÉU) et a reçu de nombreux prix pour son œuvre. Sa musique a aussi été enregistrée sur disque par Le Chant du monde, Wergo, Centaur et Neuma. |
