Le percussionniste Marc Duggan a composé de la musique pour plusieurs formations instrumentales, dans le domaine de la danse, de la vidéo et d’autres contextes commerciaux. De nombreux groupes de percussion tels Nexus et Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan lui commandent des œuvres, ainsi que plusieurs médias, dont la radio et la télévision de CBC. Il a enregistré cinq disques compacts et il a été finaliste aux Prix Juno et aux East Coast Music Awards. Il a remporté le prix Freddie Stone du Newfoundland Sound Symposium pour sa contribution à la musique contemporaine canadienne. Il détient un MFA de la California Institute of the Arts et un DMA de l’Université de Toronto. Comme musicien, Duggan s’est produit dans une grande variété de contextes musicaux — du Philip Glass Ensemble à l’Esprit Orchestra, en passant par l’Ensemble Intercontemporain de Paris dirigé par Pierre Boulez. Il est un membre fondateur de l’Evergreen Club Gamelan. |

Percussionnist Mark Duggan has composed music for a wide variety of concert, dance, video, and commercial settings including commissioned works for the percussion group Nexus, Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan. He has also created music for a variety of media including CBC Radio and Television. He has released five CDs of his music and has been twice nominated by both the Juno and East Coast Music Awards. He is the recipient of the 2001 Freddie Stone Award from the Newfoundland Sound Symposium for his contribution to Canadian contemporary music. Duggan holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a DMA from University of Toronto. As a performer, Duggan has appeared in a wide spectrum of musical contexts from the Philip Glass Ensemble, to the Esprit Orchestra, by way of the Ensemble Intercontemporain de Paris directed by Pierre Boulez. He is a founding member of the Evergreen Club Gamelan. |
