Kimberly Codner started her musical training playing piano as a child, and her love of music grew from then on. Kim is currently working on a MMus in Composition at McGill University and graduated with a BMus (Honours) in 2010 from MUN School of Music. Kim studied composition lessons privately with Dr Clark Ross and Dr Andrew Staniland. Since 2007, Kim has won several notable awards, like the NL Arts and Letters Award 2009, Gower Community Band Award 2009, MUN Chamber Choir Christmas Carol 2007, and has taken part in the Composer’s Kitchen 2010 with the Quatuor Bozzini string quartet. Through Rabbittown Theatre in St. John’s, NL, she has been commissioned to write soundscapes for the plays Antigone, The Pit, and Feast of the Sword. She would like to thank the generosity of all the scholarships and grants that she received throughout her studies to date from MUN School of Music and the NL Arts Council, as well as her friends who are always invaluable to her experiences and performances. |
