Rebecka Sofia Ahvenniemi is a Finnish composer, currently doing her master in Norway at Griegakademiet. She specializes in voice and phonetics in music and works with concepts like breath and articulation in both vocal and instrumental sounds. In some of her compostitions, both vocal and instrumental pieces, she has found her inspiration in poetry written by Edith Södergran, Karin Boye and Hildegard von Bingen. Rebecka Sofia Ahvenniemi studies composition with Morten Eide Pedersen and has had seminars with Mathias Spahlinger, Michael Finissy, Karen Tanaka, Kaija Saariaho, Bent Sørensen, Magne Hegdal, Anna Lindahl and Henrik Hellstenius. |
